The Way We Were

There were many things our caveman brothers knew nothing about – like heart disease, high blood pressure or high cholesterol.  That's because they ate the right foods for their bodies.  Our bodies haven't changed over the centuries but our diets have.  They're unsafe, especially for those living in the United States.  Obesity is a problem.  It's killing us.  Last week I committed to eat like a caveman for six weeks in order to address unsafe blood pressure issues.  This morning's reading is 107/77.  I'm shedding one pound a day by going paleo.  The caveman never read food labels and I'm following their example.  It turns out our ancestors got food right.

I'll be reporting more on this caveman experiment in the coming weeks.  It's life-changing.  Have a Happy Labor Day and take a few moments to ponder the way we were.  It's worth contemplating.
