Encouragement

1 Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing

It is hard to imagine how the people of Haiti could get through such tragedy without the aid and encouragement of others. The losses mount daily and now number more than 200,000. Some of these are the poorest of the poor. Their primitive structures could not handle the force of mother nature.

This is the time for humanity to show its good side, a time to join forces and reach out to these innocent people. When the ancient city of Jerusalem was in rubble, it was Nehemiah who convinced the king of Persia to let go of some of his resources so that the city could be rebuilt.

The lesson of Nehemiah is for all of us. We in this great and powerful country are the ones with the resources to help our neighbors. This is how God plans to reveal Himself, it is through us!

Lets offer our prayers and our encouragement for our neighbors and show the world that we are here to help. As much as many of our being challenged in these tough times, it is nothing compared to the losses our neighbors are struggling with. A little bit from each of us can make a big difference.
