Characteristics of a Frugalite

Lite living is our household mantra.  It's an attitude.  I didn't become a "frugalite" overnight.  It's a series of baby steps.  I remember navigating the Kern River with my oldest son when he was a teenager.  The rapids reached stage IV and were barely navigable.  We fell out of the boat several times but we finally reached our destination.  At the end, my son looked at me and said, "Dad, that was really fun.  Let's do it again."  In order to become a champion frugalite, you need to fix your eyes on the goal and decide you're going to get there no matter how challenging the obstacles.  Falling out of the boat is part of the journey.  Frugalites never give up.  They see joy in the whitewater rapids and find a way to navigate during troubled times.

Every morning when you wake up those stage IV rapids are waiting for you.  If you want to live like a frugalite, choose wisely at every turn.  Plan ahead for the danger zones.  Avoid temptations.  Have fun.  It's not about depriving yourself of a joyful life.  It's all about maximizing the resources and opportunities at your fingertips.  Seize the day.  Have a great day.
