Remember One Thing in Times of Trouble

There are some scary things going on in the world today.  At times, I feel the enemy is doing whatever it takes to defeat me or at least confuse my sense of purpose.  Have you ever had one of those days?  Maybe you feel like you're swimming in turbulent waters and every time you come up for air a giant wave pounces on you, forcing you back underwater.  This is the enemy's specialty.  He's been studying our weaknesses for thousands of years.  He's an expert in trickery and deceit.  The believer who calls out the enemy is at risk and becomes a target of increased attacks.  When this happens, there's one thing to remember in times of trouble – focus on who you are and who you belong to.  You are a child of God.  You have the power within in you to push back against the enemy.

Here's a little something from my toolbox for you today.  It's one of my personal favorites ~ Isaiah 40:28-31:

28 Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
    the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
    and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
    and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint.

Have a great day.
