We did it. We bit the bullet and switched to a tankless water heater. The last dinosaur water heater we had made it six years which is pretty good when you're using a soft water system. We called our neighborhood plumber when we spotted a leak and decided to go with the new technology.
If you can get over the sting of the higher price tag for a tankless water heater, you will lower your utility bills because tankless water heaters use less energy. According to my plumber, the life span is much longer and the warranty covers 15 years. There is less maintenance and hot water in abundance. In fact, we can run our dishwasher, washing machine and take showers at the same time. It's amazing. We now have more storage space as our new addition to the family is much smaller than a traditional water heater.
We give our new tankless heater five stars. Give this a try the next time you have to say goodbye to your old dinosaur. Have a great day.
