Row Row Row Your Boat

Our oldest son posted this picture on my FB page last week when he sent birthday wishes.  We were navigating the Kern River in California during a time when the rapids were scary.  We fell out of our kayak and bounced around like rag dolls.  The experience was quite different from the nursery rhyme, row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream.  I'm doing my best these days to keep my boat above water during a busy season in my life.

When the river gets too turbulent, adjustments are necessary.  I'm learning not to carry too much stuff in the boat.  Sometimes, tasks need to be put on hold.  Course adjustments are necessary.  The trick is to keep rowing.  Calm waters are ahead.  I'll see you tomorrow.
