Go the Distance

Some days the finish line seems so far away.  It's easy to give up and throw in the towel.  How do you carry on when the odds are against you?

My motivation for staying on course and going the distance is knowing what's waiting for all of us at the end of the race.  There is a God who loves us perfectly and He is waiting for us to come into His outstretched arms.  There are days when someone close to us falls down and they need help getting back on their feet.

What are we going to say to Jesus if we show up alone?  I can't bear the thought of looking into His eyes and telling Him I'm sorry for leaving my neighbor behind.  Helping someone who has fallen is not a detour, it's part of the journey.  The more you help others on your journey, the better your chances of going the distance because you will have someone by your side when you stumble.

Keep your eyes on the finish line and keep your neighbor in your peripheral vision.  Don't leave anyone behind and your race will be meaningful.
