False Prophets

 For you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:2

In the Old Testament times, if anyone claimed to be God's prophet, he was expected to be 100% accurate with his predictions.  A single false prophecy meant death by stoning.

Jesus is the real deal.  Every prediction He made came to pass.  He predicted one of His closest followers would turn Him in and another would deny Him three times before the cock crowed.  He promised He would rise on the third day.

When it came to predicting the end of the world, Jesus told us not even He knew the exact day and time.  He says, "only the Father knows."

Jesus also tells us, "the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night."
