I often wonder why there are so many agnostics and atheists around me. Some of them are so far to the other side of the spectrum that they consider themselves "world class" atheists. These people aren't just casual acquaintances, they include a best friend of thirty plus years, a managing partner in my business, and members of my "inner circle" of tennis buddies.
I don't believe that the high numbers of non-believers in my life are some kind of statistical anomaly, but rather, a part of a divine plan to draw the lost sheep to Jesus. Those who are close to me know that I am in the middle of some kind of spiritual battle. I don't like talking about it much because it makes me look like someone who has just lost it, however, the closer I get to publishing my book, the more I see the presence of the Evil One. In order to keep my own sanity, I find myself in prayer almost the entire waking hours of my life and even in my sleep.
What is it that the Evil One is so afraid of? I think it is that He and His followers are so far away from the love of God that all they know is torment. Any time they see an attempt by anyone in this world to turn on the light and bring people to Jesus, they go into full attack mode. They are relentless. They don't want anyone to go to the light.
