The Empty Seat at the Table

Odds are you know one of the families I'm referring to today on this Memorial Day.  It takes a special person to sign up for something that may lead to loss of life.  Family members who have suffered the loss of a hero ask why others say, "Happy Memorial Day."  That empty seat at the table is a quiet reminder that a loved one is missing today.

My heart goes out to all the families who lost a mother, father, son, daughter, brother, sister or friend serving our country.  Keep these families in your prayers.  As much as you want to wish others a Happy Memorial Day, please respect the families who are hurting today.  This day is really about them.  They paid a high price for today's barbecue.  Do something today to show your respect for their loss.
