Can't Stop Loving You

"Marriage is a difficult proposition. But I haven't given up on it, either." Phil Collins

Phil Collins has given the world some beautiful music. He injured his neck while on tour and that caused his hands to go numb. He had an operation for his neck injury and is hopeful that one day he will be able to play the drums and guitar again. There is only one other man, Paul McCartney, who has sold 100 million albums worldwide as a principal member of a band and 100 million albums as a solo artist. As I was waking up this morning, Phil's song, "Can't Stop Loving You", popped into my head.

I was thinking about the day I encountered Jesus while reading about Him in the Bible story about the naked man. What struck me is that Jesus is all-knowing. He knew that he would meet the naked crazy man when he and his followers got off the boat. He could have bypassed the man but he chose to meet him, help him and change his life forever.

The truth about Jesus is that He can't stop loving you. The Bible is filled with stories about people just like you and me that are not worthy to be loved the way Jesus loves us. Look at the people that were on the boat the day Jesus met the naked cave man. Peter would become the leader of the Church even though Jesus already knew that Peter would deny Him three times at the time Jesus needed him the most. Before Paul was invited into the boat, he was busy killing Christians. Matthew made his money by overtaxing his own people. Jesus just could not stop loving any of these people.

Today, the Captain of the ship is on a collision course for you. Can you hear Him calling your name? He wants you to sail away with Him and all of His followers. The boat is full of sinners, the kind of people that Jesus has a special heart for. The name of His boat is the U.S.S. Forgiven. Every passenger on board has been given a second chance no matter what they did before they got on the boat...
