Memory Training 101

According to memory expert, Jim Kwik, there is no such thing as having a good or bad memory.  He defines memory as being trained or untrained.  This is rather enlightening for me because memory is key to success in building relationships.   How can you show someone you care about them if you fail to remember their own name?  Imagine what your life could be like should you decide you are committed to training your memory?

Keep in mind your brain listens to every statement you make and follows what you say.  When you say, "I have poor memory recall," your brain shuts down your own ability to remember things.  Instead, tell yourself, "I'm getting better at remembering names every day."  Watch what happens.  The experience is magical.

Do you remember when you were young and you could recall all of your friend's phone numbers?  Don't let your smart phone make you dumb when it comes to memory recall.  Start small and build just as you would train a new puppy new tricks.  Whatever you do, please don't ever limit your ability to have a memory that will stun your friends and family.  Use this phrase to train your brain...  "I'm getting better at (fill in the blank)."  Have a great day.
