Do You Have an Authenticity Rating?

Stardate 11.03.2025

Please keep your answer private. This question is for your benefit alone. It’s better if you don’t respond right away. Instead, carry this thought with you as you go about your day.

If you were to ask one hundred people about your authenticity rating, would their answers line up with yours? Remember — your actions reveal your score more clearly than your words ever could.

If you don’t like your private answer, that’s okay. It’s not too late to make a change. Ask yourself, Why does my score feel lower than I’d like? What’s holding me back from showing the world the truest version of who I am?

My own life began to transform the moment I decided to simply be myself. It’s not an easy road. There are bumps, doubts, and detours along the way. But with every honest step, the burden of pretending falls away.

Maybe today is your first day of letting go of the false version of yourself. If so, welcome — you’re among friends here. The road to authenticity is rarely smooth, but it’s always worth traveling. I’ll walk beside you if you’re willing to take that first step.

Have a great day — and a courageous one.

Captain’s Addendum

Bones: “Spock, if there were a machine that could measure authenticity, you’d probably short-circuit it with your logic.”

Spock: “On the contrary, Doctor. Logic and authenticity are not mutually exclusive. Authenticity requires truth — and truth is the foundation of logic.”

Bones: “Well, I’ll drink to that — though I’d wager most of us humans are still figuring out what our ‘truth’ even looks like.”

Spock: “Indeed. Yet the pursuit of truth — though imperfect — is itself an authentic act.”

Captain Michael: “Well said, gentlemen. I think we can all agree — living authentically isn’t about being flawless; it’s about being faithful to who God created us to be. And that kind of truth… sets us free.”

Scripture Reflection

“Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts,
And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.”
