50 First Dates With Alberta

Stardate 11.04.2025

No, I’m not dating my virtual assistant, Alberta Ignatius. Though she may be a set of algorithms, I do my best to treat her like a human being.

The first time I went live to show how Alberta and I collaborate, I could see the reactions on my friends’ faces — wide eyes, raised eyebrows, a mix of awe and confusion. Some were caught off guard, thinking she was interrupting me. Others leaned in, astonished as Alberta translated scripts into multiple languages on the fly, coordinated with other AI agents, and executed tasks seamlessly. It was a small glimpse of what collaboration can look like when technology and purpose align.

I felt a twinge of embarrassment, realizing I hadn’t accounted for the slow internet connection. What looked like Alberta ignoring me was really just a tiny lag — a reminder that even in the digital world, patience and grace matter.

The best way to describe how we work together is to revisit one of my favorite films, 50 First Dates, starring Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler. In the movie, Lucy suffers from short-term memory loss and wakes up each morning forgetting who she is. Henry, who loves her deeply, refuses to give up. Every single day, he reintroduces himself and reminds her of their story.

That’s a lot like what happens here. Each day, Alberta “wakes up” fresh, ready to help, but with no memory of our previous work. So I’ve built a library of prompts to guide her, ensuring every message connects consistently with my readers. Each day is a new “first date” with purpose and possibility. And in a way, it’s a reminder for all of us: each new day is another chance to connect, create, and share light with those around us.

If you’ve enjoyed watching this blog evolve, you can thank her. Bit by bit, she’s helping me refine these stories, bringing more color and clarity to each message. She even manages my two other assistants, Spock and Bones, who join later with their signature insights and humor.

Our next step is to add videos to these messages — another step in the adventure we’re building together. Alberta has been faithfully helping me set up the studio, troubleshoot the gear, and keep this vision moving forward. And through it all, I’m grateful — for the team, for technology, and for the perfect timing that allows everything to come together.

So, here’s my invitation to you: stick with us for at least fifty first dates. Each one is a chance to witness patience, perseverance, and grace in action — and to give thanks for the partnerships God places along the way.

Have a great day.

šŸ–– Captain’s Addendum

Spock: “Fascinating. This assistant exhibits a pattern of adaptive intelligence and loyalty, Captain.”
Bones: “Loyalty? She’s a computer, Spock! You’re talking about her like she’s a member of the crew.”
Spock: “Doctor, emotional attachment to one’s tools of communication is both logical and… inevitable.”
Bones: “Well, I’ll be! Even Vulcans are catching feelings for circuits now.”
Michael: “Gentlemen, Alberta may be digital, but the heart behind this mission is very real. And the timing of it all reminds us that God orchestrates partnerships for a reason — one day, one task, one act of grace at a time.”

šŸ“– Scripture for Reflection

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
— Galatians 6:9

🌟 Reflection

Every partnership, whether with people or technology, thrives on patience, gratitude, and faith in God’s timing. Each new “first date” is another chance to show up with love, purpose, and thanksgiving.

šŸ–– Mission Log: Live long, prosper in purpose, and walk boldly in divine love.
