Every action you take today—or choose not to take—matters to your future self. Letting today slip away makes it easier to let tomorrow slip too. That’s why today is your focal point.
If you’re not happy with how your present self has turned out, then today becomes even more significant. Why? Because you’ve begun to understand that your choices carry consequences—and that’s a gift.
Lately, I’ve been talking about the voices in my head that represent different parts of me. I’m starting to realize I owe each one of them a debt of gratitude. They did what was hard and necessary to carry me through tough seasons. I’m truly thankful for my past self.
And I can sense my future self, patiently waiting—hoping I’ll use today wisely.
I won’t waste this day. This is the day I get to make meaningful choices about where I’m going. I’m choosing to spend it in gratitude.
When I build solid habits rooted in thankfulness, my future self will have far less to worry about.
How about you?
Does this day matter to your future self?
What can you do today that will make them smile?
Have a great day.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
— Galatians 6:9
