When Rest Becomes Revival

Star Date: 05.26.2025

Happy Memorial Day!

Last night marked the second in a row where my sleep and energy scores hit the “Excellent” range.

๐Ÿ“Š Sleep Score: 85
⏰ Sleep Time: 8 hrs 58 min
๐Ÿ’ช Physical Recovery: 90%
๐Ÿง  Mental Recovery: 94%
๐Ÿ˜ด REM Sleep: 2 hrs 5 min
๐ŸŒŒ Deep Sleep: 1 hr 2 min
⚡ Energy Score this Morning: 89

I don’t share this to boast—these numbers don’t make me holy or heroic. But they do reflect something I’ve been leaning into lately: consistency.

For me, good sleep isn’t just about turning off screens or skipping the late-night snack (though those help!). It’s also about a peaceful heart. Each night before I rest, I thank God for all He’s doing in my life—seen and unseen. I lay down with gratitude. And each morning, I rise with a surrender prayer:
“Jesus, I give You everything today. Be in charge. Take care of it all.”

That simple prayer sets the tone. It silences the inner noise that used to follow me into the night. These past two nights, my sleep felt like more than just rest—it felt like revival.

I’ve also noticed that measuring my sleep and energy doesn’t create pressure—it creates awareness.

  • When my scores dip, I make adjustments.

  • When they shine, like this week, I give thanks and stay the course.

This rhythm reminds me that faith and health are both journeys. There will be ups and downs. But if I show up with honesty, consistency, and surrender, I can trust the results to follow.

Maybe you needed this reminder today. That your body is worth caring for. That peace is possible. That the best “wellness tracker” is sometimes a quiet conversation with God before bed.
Before I sleep, I let the voices in my head know that I will give them time and attention in the morning—but not during the night. They can rest too. And when I wake up, we talk again—together with Jesus—asking Him to take charge of the day ahead.

Rest well tonight, friend. May your soul and body both be refreshed.
