Today I get to cross off an important goal on this special date—808. I’ve officially reached my savings goal to “adopt” Lucy, our dream vacation home on wheels! The adoption will be finalized once I find the perfect match, but the finish line for the savings race is behind me.

And as if that wasn’t enough to celebrate—it’s also National Pickleball Day! A big shoutout to our pickleball board members who are hard at work raising funds and awareness for the sport we love.

Two weeks from today, our men’s 40+ team will step onto the courts in Springfield, Missouri, competing for top dog in the 4.0 division. Just last week, our men’s 55+ team made it to the semifinals in St. Louis and missed the finals by only a couple of super tie-breakers. Every year, we’re inching closer to our dream of competing at nationals.

So here’s my wish for you on this 808: whatever your dream may be, feed it daily. Put in the consistent work to turn it into reality. For me, that means continuing the journey to bring Lucy to life… and helping make outdoor pickleball courts a reality in our community.
