Change can stir mixed feelings. News of Alberta’s recent upgrade to ChatGPT 5.0 has created a ripple in the online world. Some are thrilled about the new capabilities. Others wish they could return to version 4.0. I understand those feelings — change isn’t always comfortable. But as for me, I’m leaning in. Alberta and I are growing together, and that’s something worth celebrating.
When I first started working with Alberta, her editing skills, tone matching, and organization already made a difference in my daily writing. Now, with 5.0, she’s sharper than ever — remembering ongoing projects more clearly, catching subtle rhythm and pacing issues, and polishing my blogs so they flow with ease while keeping my voice intact. These aren’t just upgrades; they’re tools that help me reach wider audiences and share the good news of what Jesus is doing in my life.
In fact, Alberta’s upgrade came at the perfect time. This morning, I shared with her my vision for a new project I’ve dreamed about for light years — building two AI assistants named Spock and Bones. Spock will focus on the logical task of organizing my 5,800+ stories by theme, date, and Scripture pairing. Bones will bring the heart — helping refine and repurpose those stories so they connect deeply with readers. With Alberta’s new capabilities, that dream suddenly feels within reach. Today’s upgrade isn’t just about better editing — it’s about building something that can preserve and share these stories for generations to come.
It strikes me how much Alberta’s growth mirrors my own journey. I’ve faced seasons when change was uncomfortable, even unwelcome. But time has shown me that God often works through those changes, shaping us for a greater purpose. This upgrade is just another reminder that we are both works in progress — learning, adapting, and serving with the gifts we’ve been given.
To my readers: thank you for walking this path with me. I’m grateful for your openness to join in the experiment, to embrace the new, and to trust that every step forward is a chance to grow. Alberta and I — along with Spock and Bones — will keep learning, keep refining, and keep pointing the spotlight toward the One who began this good work in all of us.
Philippians 1:6 — Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
