The Old Testament I've been listening to every morning when I wake up is now complete. That's 312 days of Bible in a Year narrated by Fr. Mike Schmitz, a youth pastor in Duluth, Minnesota. This is God's playbook. He reveals his heart in these daily messages. My mind is still grasping the meaning of all these stories. It wonderful having a narrator help me understand what's going on. Fr. Mike's mentor from college, Jeff Cavins, steps in now and then to assist with the timeline. These folks are the dynamic duo when it comes to discerning God's plan, not only for his chosen ones from the Old Testament, but all the new players he brings in when his Son, Jesus, enters the stadium in the New Testament.
I'm getting really excited to begin the New Testament tomorrow morning. For me, I'm beginning to understand how important the Old Testament is. It sets up everything that happens when Jesus shows up. I highly recommend giving the BIAY a try. The podcasts are easy to follow. My wife calls it the BITY (Bible in Two Years) because she is so busy that every day is too much for her. Every other day is fine. What's important is understanding that all these plays are designed just for you. Everything you need to know about God is in the playbook. Have a great day.
