Today’s story is for those who feel called but don’t believe they are qualified. This message resonates deeply with me because I, too, often feel that way. Every time I think God dialed the wrong number, I eventually discover that’s exactly how He works. The more “unqualified” a person seems, the more stunning God’s outcomes can be. Even the greatest skeptics find themselves seeing the light.
History is filled with stories of the unqualified who changed the world.
Biblically speaking, let’s start with Mary—a teenage girl from a poor neighborhood, living among an oppressed people. An angel appears and asks her to become the Mother of God. She says yes. Boom! She’s pregnant. Even her fiancรฉ struggles to understand her story. Yet from that moment, everything changes.
Her Son, Jesus, grows up in a remote town and later returns to begin His ministry. He chooses twelve followers—none of them qualified to lead a movement. Most are fishermen who, ironically, have trouble catching fish. Yet Jesus tells them they will become fishers of men. They follow Him for three years, often struggling to understand His stories and lessons. Two thousand years later, their legacy continues to transform the world.
Fast forward to our own time. A young boy in Italy, born into an ordinary family, feels called to share stories about God. He begins posting online about miracles and faith. Tragically, he dies at the age of fifteen. Yet through his work and witness, lives are still being changed today. His name is Carlo Acutis, now recognized as a saint. Was he qualified by the world’s standards? No. But his faith qualified him in God’s eyes.
So, the next time you sense God calling you to do something beyond your comfort zone, be courageous and say yes. If the call comes from God, you have nothing to fear. He will equip you with everything you need to complete your mission.
When it’s done, give Him all the glory.
Have a great day, friends. ๐

[Bridge – USS Encouragement]
Bones: “I swear, Michael, you’ve lost your mind. You’re taking orders from a higher power you can’t even see!”
Spock: “Doctor, your emotional response is, as usual, illogical. Faith, by definition, does not require visual confirmation. It is confidence in that which cannot be empirically proven.”
Bones: “Blast it, Spock, I’m a doctor, not a theologian! But I’ll tell you this—half the people I meet feel unqualified to do the job they’ve been handed.”
Michael: “You’re both right in your own way. Spock, your logic reminds us that belief doesn’t always need proof. And Bones, your heart reminds us that we humans often doubt ourselves before we ever doubt God.”
Spock: “Fascinating. You imply that human inadequacy serves a purpose within divine strategy.”
Michael: “Exactly, Mr. Spock. Sometimes the mission feels beyond us because it is—that’s how we learn to depend on the One who called us. God doesn’t recruit the most qualified officers; He equips those who answer the call.”
Bones: “Well, if He’s the one assigning duty stations, I suppose we’d better report for service.”
Michael: “That’s the spirit, Doctor. Whether our orders come from Starfleet Command or straight from Heaven, we go where we’re sent—with courage, humility, and faith. The universe needs more people willing to say ‘yes’ even when they feel unqualified.”
Scripture
“Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.”
— 1 Corinthians 1:26–27
