My hope was to make it in time to wish my mother a happy mother's day in person. Last night when I gently knocked at her door at 11:59 pm, hope won. As Emily Dickinson said in her poem, "Hope is that thing with feathers, that perches in the soul, and sings the tunes without the words, and never stops at all."
Something else won as well. It's called love. Paul teaches us in Corinthians 13:13, "And now these three remain, faith, hope, and love, and the greatest of these is love." I'm thankful to know a mother's love and to be able to acknowledge it in person, even if on special days like mother's day, I only had a minute to spare. Have a great day.
