Right now, something truly remarkable is unfolding. If you're anything like our friends Tina and Martin, who journeyed all the way from Ireland to visit my wife's aunt Susie here in Iowa, you might be unaware of what's happening. A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of watching the Big 10 ladies' basketball championships on the big screen at the Parnell Tavern while catching up with our Irish friends. Although Tina and Martin had no prior knowledge of Caitlin Clark, they were captivated by her extraordinary talent as she led Iowa's team, and they quickly became fans.
In many ways, Caitlin Clark resembles the female equivalent of Michael Jordan. As my wife and I watched the showdown between the nation's top-ranked offense and defense last night, the tension built, culminating in a nail-biting finish that had us on the edge of our seats until the final minutes. What a thrilling game it was! The Iowa Hawkeyes emerged victorious and are now advancing to the sweet 16.
This incredible journey began when Caitlin first expressed her dream of playing professional basketball back in elementary school. Now, that dream is on the verge of becoming a reality, with Caitlin expected to be the top pick in the upcoming draft, likely headed to Indiana.
For those who haven't yet experienced the excitement surrounding Caitlin and her team, it's not too late to join in. You can click here for a link to Caitlin's profile page and see for yourself what all the buzz is about here in Iowa. Personally, my favorite aspect of being a fan is Caitlin's selflessness and ability to elevate the performance of everyone around her. Tune in and witness the March Madness firsthand—I guarantee you won't be disappointed. I wouldn't be surprised if Tina and Martin tune in too. Have a fantastic day!
