We lost my wife's mother to cancer during the first year of our marriage. She was diagnosed during our engagement. Her greatest joy was bird watching, especially when the yellow finches appeared for a brief visit in late Spring. Last night we left our blinds open to soak up all the beautiful signs of Nature in our back yard. Then it happened. Out of nowhere, hundreds of these gorgeous finches descended upon our back yard feeding on the weeds that sprouted from the incessant rainfall this season. These gorgeous birds are a sign from Heaven that put a huge smile on my wife's Irish eyes. Me too. Check out the pictures below. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms in this world and above.
