Winter is officially over, both in nature and in my life. Just before leaving Ramona, we said good-bye to our beloved Lucky, a rescue pet who brought us years of joy. Near the end, his frail body kept him from going on hikes or visits to dog beach, something he really enjoyed. Instead, he slept most hours of the day. Our chihuahua, Roxy, and our family stayed close to him until the end.
We are in Iowa now. And we are walking twice a day. There is a large field nearby and we allow Roxy to go off her leash once we are off the streets. Roxy can run like no other small dog I've ever seen. She loves her new environment. We feel the same way about Iowa. The plants and trees all seem to be blooming in fast forward speed, just like the clouds that race across the sky. When we arrived two weeks ago, everything was dead. Suddenly, color is all around us. Birds are building nests. Nature is singing with angelic voices. Even the owls know when to chime in to the symphony at just the right moment.
I'm ready for Spring. How about you? Are you ready to welcome a new season in your life? Please share your comments below.
