What a Wonderful World

I see trees of green........ red roses too
I see em bloom..... for me and for you

The day my dad passed away at my sister's home, a small twin rose emerged from a single bud just yards away from where he sat with his twin brother, Mike.  No one noticed it.  It was overshadowed by the events of that Spring day in May, eleven years ago.  Several days later, family members from all over the country arrived for the funeral.  The twin rose was discovered when guests were posing for pictures in front of the rose plant.  It was impossible to miss the twins, now the size of two grapefruits in bold red color, like the shade of lipstick a supermodel wears to accentuate her face.

I wonder if Louis Armstrong ever saw a red rose as beautiful as the double rose Mother Nature delivered outside my sister's front door or if he ever observed a Spring day like I'm seeing in my backyard this morning.  I do know this...I'm thinking to myself, what a wonderful world.  Enjoy this video from Louis Armstrong and take a moment to look outside at the trees of green, the red roses -- and all the beauty of nature made for me and you...
